I Thirst!, Monday, March 8, 2010

Reading: Psalm 42:1-2, As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?

Walkin’ through the desert of this thing that we call life
The sands of sin surround me with Satan’s awful plight
The heat pounding upon me, the pressures of this world
My soul drying within me, I cry out for the Lord…

Where is the water of Your Word?
I’m searchin’ for the spring of life that I once heard.
Show me now the well of life that never will run dry.
Quench this longing thirst for You before this weary soul dies.

Temptations swirl around me and whip against my face
How can I continue in this Godless place
There’s too many around me, who’ve fallen on their way
The vultures circle over and I hit my knees to pray

Where is the water of Your Word?
I’m searchin’ for the spring of life that I once heard.
Show me now the well of life that never will run dry.
Quench this longing thirst for You before this weary soul dies.

Sometimes we are so comfortable that we forget that we are living in a dry and barren land spiritually. It’s when we are able to realize how in need of the Water from His Word, that we truly become thirsty.
